Colors effect people and their body and mood at different stages in life.
Strong and bright color can shock baby’s inner vibrations, colors like primary red, yellow and orange can get them restless and unsettled. Best colors to keep babies and young children in peace and warmth are pastel yellow, cream, peaches, lavender, soft pinks, greens or blues.
Blue and Greens are considered cold colors, although green is calming except when used in a dark room facing south. Whereas blue based greens have a cooling effect for rooms facing hot north-west rooms. These colors mixed with yellow, red or orange can be used as accents to brighten up the interior.
For an over active child, Blue is a good color for walls but it can mix with contrasting warm colors in drapes, mats or bed linen to liven up the mood. Very dark blues are not recommended for young children as these colors relates to Dark and can cause nightmares.
Bold Geometric patterns are distracting to older children. Colors like muted blue-green, yellow-orange helps to stimulate their minds for studying and thinking process. Yellow by itself no matter how soft tend to cause headaches and irritability. It has to be minimal and chosen with care. However, bold colors appeal more to children in playrooms. It encourages the child to be more active and outgoing.
